Secure from day one
The PowerBox runs an automated gate and access control on solar power, so an entrance can be secured before any site supply is connected.
-
Moves with the build
Temporary gates and PowerBox units go in quickly and come out when the phase is finished, ready for the next entrance or the next site.
-
Ready for handover
Permanent cantilever and EstateGuard gates for shared entrances, private roads and car parks, set up for residents or the management company.

During the build
Temporary site gates
Heavy-duty steel gates that go in quickly and come out when the phase is finished.
- Operation: Automated
- Access: Remote, keypad or GSM phone and app
- Power: Mains or off-grid with the PowerBox
- Available to: Buy or hire

Off-grid power
PowerBox
A complete solar power unit that runs the gate and access control where there's no supply. In use on CALA Homes sites.
- Solar panel: 455W, angled for winter sun
- Batteries: 2 × 100Ah AGM as standard, room for up to 6
- Output: 12V or 24V DC

Access control
Phone and app access
Replace padlock codes with a PAL GSM controller. Site managers, trades and delivery drivers open the gate with a call or the app.
- Users: Added and removed remotely
- Time limits: Restrict access to working hours
- Free exit: Wireless vehicle detector, no loop cutting
- Extras: Smart remotes, keypads and 4G intercoms

On the finished development
Permanent gates
When the build is complete, we install the permanent entrance gates and access control and hand them over ready to use.
- Shared entrances and private roads: WSP cantilever sliding gates, 4 to 12 metres
- Rural and edge-of-village plots: EstateGuard five-bar style gates
- No supply at the gate: WSP 95, WSP 130 and EstateGuard gates can run on solar

Frequently asked questions
Can you install a gate before the site has power?
Can you install a gate before the site has power?
Yes. The PowerBox runs an automated gate and GSM access control on solar power, so the entrance can be secured from day one without a temporary supply.
Can the gate move when the site phase changes?
Can the gate move when the site phase changes?
Yes. Temporary gates and the PowerBox are built to be moved. Tell us your phasing plan and we'll plan the moves with you.
How do trades and deliveries get in?
How do trades and deliveries get in?
Most sites use a GSM controller, so authorised people open the gate with a phone call or the app. You can add and remove numbers remotely and limit access to set days and times. Remotes and keypads are also available.
Can we buy rather than hire?
Can we buy rather than hire?
Yes. Temporary gates and the PowerBox are available to buy or hire. Buying often makes sense if you'll reuse them on your next development.
What happens if the battery runs low?
What happens if the battery runs low?
We size each system for the expected openings and winter sunlight, and Bluetooth monitoring shows battery status on site. Every gate can also be released manually.
Do you cover sites across the UK?
